Hip-Hop Wisdom: Killer Mike – “10 G’s”

Finally, two years after I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind, Killer Mike has released a new track from the yet unreleased I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II. And it’s SICK. The jam’s called “10 G’s”:

Mike’s a considerate dude. Here’s his fatherly advice for competitors:

If you’re 30 and ain’t flipping bricks by now you wasting time
Get a job, DHL, FedEx, UPS is hiring
I can see your future nigga, it involves testifying

Wonder why he’s recommending only delivery positions … guess he’s not talking to the shirt-and-tie type. Then there’s this gem:

White girl, white girl, sittin’ right beside me
You can call it Coco and refer to me as Ice-T

Ice-T and Coco, for newbies, possibly make up rap’s most cartoonish, unappetizing, laughably sexual couple. It’s like Ice-T pasted the lyrics from “Bitches Ain’t Shit” into a Craigslist personal ad. She’s essentially composed of four spheres and a head. He’s old and crusty, with the facial hair that accompanies mandatory door-to-door visits when you move to a new neighborhood. We could show you a picture, but why choose just one?

Anyway. I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II is out July 8. Color us excited.
